MTV's correspondent at the White House reported that gunfire was recorded near the White House complex, specifically at the intersection of 15th Street and Independence Avenue.

The U.S. Secret Service imposed a security lockdown on the press room and other areas inside the White House.

After verification with security authorities, it was found that an incident had occurred in the nearby area, prompting officials to ask journalists to move to the briefing room as a precautionary measure.

The situation has now been brought under control, the emergency status has been lifted, and normal operations have resumed.
